Race Distance Guide

• 5K–10K OCR / Short Sprint: Ridgeline works — use just the soft flasks, skip the bladder. Keep pockets light for fastest movement.
• Half Marathon / 15K Trail: Ideal range. Load both 500mL flasks + gels in the front zipper pockets. Rear bladder slot available if conditions are hot.
• Ultra / 25K+: Purpose-built for this. Run the full 3.5L bladder, pack nutrition in the side pockets, and use the trekking pole pouch on technical terrain.

Obstacle Course & OCR Use

• Will it snag? The low-profile mesh back and flat-seam construction minimize catch points on walls, ropes, and crawl obstacles. Tuck your tube before climbs.
• Remove or keep it on? The adjustable side cords let you loosen the vest in seconds for overhead obstacles and re-cinch immediately after. Most athletes run the full course without removing it. For extreme upper-body obstacles (rope climbs, monkey bars), loosen the cords before the obstacle and re-tighten on the other side.
• Vest + water weight on obstacles: Run only the soft flasks (500mL each) during obstacle-heavy segments to keep chest weight low and shoulder mobility high. Reserve the rear bladder for road or trail sections between obstacle zones.

Heat & Breathability

• Lightweight mesh back panel promotes airflow across the spine — the highest heat zone during sustained effort.
• In hot conditions, the soft flask system keeps hydration accessible at the chest without adding bulk to your back.
• The vest does not trap heat the way a traditional pack does — open mesh construction keeps you running cool.
